MOTS-c dosage chart
The units to draw on a U-100 insulin syringe for each MOTS-c dose, by vial size and the water added.
- vial sizes sold
- 10, 40, 50 mg
- approval status
- Not FDA-approved
- in each unit of a U-100 syringe
- 0.01 mL
This MOTS-c dosage chart turns an amount of MOTS-c into the matching mark on an insulin syringe, for each vial size you're likely to see. It draws on the three vial options, 10 mg, 40 mg and 50 mg, that research suppliers offer. The doses listed are there so you can read the chart, not as amounts to take.
- Vial sizes on offer: 10 mg, 40 mg and 50 mg
- Approval: the FDA has not approved it for any use in people
- Sold as: a research chemical
- Syringe used: a standard (U-100) insulin syringe with 100 small marks, where all 100 marks together hold 1 mL

Dose rows are round amounts for reading the table, not a suggested dose: no FDA label exists.
MOTS-c units by vial size
Every column stands for one vial with a fixed amount of water in it. Look for your dose on the left, then read sideways to find the units. Here, a "unit" means one of the smallest marks on a U-100 insulin syringe; a full 100 units fills 1 mL. Amounts appear in mg or mcg.
- With the 10 mg vial and 2 mL of water added, a dose of 250 mcg calls for 5 units, 500 mcg calls for 10 units, 1 mg calls for 20 units, and 2 mg calls for 40 units.
- With the 40 mg vial and 2 mL of water added, a dose of 250 mcg is too small to measure well, and 500 mcg, 1 mg and 2 mg take 2.5 units, 5 units, and 10 units.
- With the 50 mg vial and 5 mL of water added, those same doses take 2.5 units, 5 units, 10 units, and 20 units.
MOTS-c isn't approved for use in people, so no safe dose has been set, and a doctor or pharmacist is the right person to ask before anything goes into your body.
