How to reconstitute Tesamorelin: water added to the vial wall

Mixing Tesamorelin, one step at a time

  1. Wash your hands, then wipe the rubber stopper on the peptide vial and the one on the bacteriostatic water with an alcohol swab.
  2. Load the syringe with the amount of water you chose. With 2 mL in a 10 mg vial, you get 5 mg per mL.
  3. At a slight angle, insert the needle through the stopper. Let the water flow slowly along the vial's inside wall.
  4. Gently roll the vial between your hands until the powder disappears. Don't shake it.
  5. Mark the mix date on the vial, then store it as your product or prescription directs.
  6. Find the units needed for your dose first, then draw to that line.

What the label tells you

The Egrifta SV label lists the same handling directions: push water down the inside wall, roll it for 30 seconds and don't shake it.

Questions people often ask

How much bacteriostatic water do I need for 10 mg of Tesamorelin?

One amount isn't right for every case. With 2 mL, you get 5 mg per mL; adding more water lowers the strength of each unit, so small doses are easier to draw.

Is sterile water okay for mixing Tesamorelin?

Because sterile water contains no preservative and is meant for a single use, vials you draw from over days are usually mixed with bacteriostatic water. See sterile water compared with bacteriostatic water.
