Understanding Epitalon math
Divide the amount in the vial by the water to find the strength. Each mL in a 10 mg vial mixed with 2 mL of water contains 5 mg. First divide your dose by that strength for mL, then multiply by 100 to get units on a U-100 syringe.
From that vial, 100 mcg equals 0.02 mL, or 2 units.
Epitalon unit amounts at a glance
| Your dose | 10 mg vial + 2 mL | 50 mg vial + 5 mL |
|---|---|---|
| 200 mcg | 4 units | 2 units |
| 250 mcg | 5 units | 2.5 units |
| 300 mcg | 6 units | 3 units |
| 500 mcg | 10 units | 5 units |
| 750 mcg | 15 units | 7.5 units |
| 1.5 mg | 30 units | 15 units |
| 2 mg | 40 units | 20 units |
| 3 mg | 60 units | 30 units |
| 4 mg | 80 units | 40 units |
Each cell marks the line to draw to for a U-100 syringe, using that vial and water.
So, is Epitalon FDA-approved?
It isn't FDA-approved for any use in people; it's sold as a research chemical. Because no FDA label exists, no official dose is set. All we do is convert the dose you already have.
Questions people often ask
For a 10 mg Epitalon vial, how much water do I put in?
You can choose the amount of water; it only changes the strength of each mL. Using 2 mL gives 5 mg per mL; more water means each unit holds less, so small doses are easier to measure.
How many units do you get from 1 mg of Epitalon?
That depends on how strong your mix is. At 5 mg/mL, 1 mg equals 20 units. Use the calculator to enter your vial and water amounts and find your number.
How long does a mixed Epitalon solution last?
Follow the storage instructions on your product or prescription. CDC guidance says you should use bacteriostatic water itself within 28 days of the first needle.
